Brown Named NJCAA DIII Pitcher of Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College North Lake's Grayson Brown was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Pitcher of the Week.

A sophomore from Sunnyvale, Texas, the left-handed hurler tossed 5.1 innings with perfection, not allowing a base runner in facing the minimum 16 batters. He went 1-0 with four strikeouts. Brown pitched 4.1 perfect innings in a 10-8 win over in Dallas College Cedar Valley, shutting the door in an 8-8 game as the Blazers picked up the winning runs in the sixth and seventh innings to move his record to 4-3. He pitched a perfect inning earlier in the week at Paris Junior College.

Brown has a 5.14 earned run average, one save and 32 strikeouts in 15 appearances this season.

No. 10 North Lake (22-23, 12-9 Dallas Athletic Conference) will host No. 1-ranked Dallas College Eastfield (34-11, 18-3) at 3 p.m. Thursday before the series shifts to Mesquite Friday and Saturday, with Saturday's game scheduled for the DAC Game of the Week on the DAC Sports Network.
