Brown's Perfection Nets DAC Pitcher of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake's Grayson Brown was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
It is the second time this year he's won the award.
A sophomore left-hander from Sunnyvale, Texas, Brown pitched 5 1/3 perfect innings in two appearances, going 1-0 with four strikeouts. He didn't allow a baserunner in a win over Dallas College Cedar Valley that helped the Blazers win the series. He went 4 1/3 innings in the win over the Suns, striking out three batters. He pitched a perfect inning earlier in the week at National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Paris Junior College.
Behind his no hits allowed, no-runs-given-up, no-walks-surrendered in facing-the-minimum-16-batters performance, Brown improved to 4-3 with one save and 32 strikeouts in 35 innings this season.
Following Monday's game at Grayson College, No. 6 North Lake (22-22, 12-9) will host NJCAA Division III No. 1-ranked Eastfield (34-10, 18-3 DAC) noon Wednesday before the series shifts to Mesquite Friday and Saturday, with Saturday's game set for the DAC Game of the Week on the DAC Sports Network.
