Lopez Named DAC Pitcher of Week
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College North Lake baseball's Isaac Lopez was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
A sophomore left hander from North Richland Hills, Texas, Lopez went 2-0 last week to help the Blazers win the series against Dallas College Cedar Valley. He pitched a scoreless 10th inning, striking out all three batters he faced, to win Game 1. The next day, Lopez pitched a scoreless ninth inning to send the game to extra innings in a 20-19 victory. In his two innings of work, he did not allow a run, and gave up one hit and a walk, while striking out three.
Lopez improved to 5-3 with one save and 27 strikeouts in 29.1 innings this season.
North Lake (19-27, 10-11 DAC) begins a three-game series at Dallas College Eastfield 12 p.m. Wednesday. The Blazers will host the final two games Friday and Saturday at noon.
